We're on the radio again with Fred MacAulay on BBC Radio Scotland. We do the interview outside the casino in the bright morning sunshine sitting in the car. Not that anyone tuning in can see us but it seemed appropriate. Having finished our morning broadcast we set off for Lyon. This is a 5 hour trip. The rally is all but over - only a couple of days to go. Our friends are in 5th place apparently (team 39) and we're still hoping to catch them!

We set off for Lyon, passing Nice, Cannes and Marseille before heading north. Its getting colder and wetter, easy know we're getting closer to the UK!

In Lyon we carry out a number of special rally stages. Its difficult to be precise and get your timing and car position exact but the adrenaline doesn't let us down. A number of the classic Mini's are having engine trouble etc... This news secretly pleases the new mini owners who are desperate to win (a new mini has never won the Italian Job)... suspiciously sounds like favouritism me thinks!

Lyon seems quite an industrial city and we are absolutely exhausted. So much driving every day, concentrating and studying the road book means we're both ready for bed almost as soon as the rally finishes for the day. Quick bite to eat then its off to bed... the word is only the top 3 cars get prizes so we still have work to do!
